Mini Vacation in St Louis
posted by Aaron and Audrey

Aaron: I can't wait to tell you about our neat trip to St Louis. Our Nana and Poppy came to visit. They went with us to story time and took walks, and made pineapple upside down cakes. Mommy says Nana's love language is giving beach towels as gifts and making her pineapple upside down cake. My love language is head butting. It makes me laugh and sometimes it makes my sister laugh, too.

Audrey: I thought we were going to talk about St Louis. We saw the arch. I pointed at it. Then we went to our hotel called the Drury Inn. Remember what it was like last year when we went there? We were still sharing a crib back then. We sure have gotten bigger! This year we learned what "free hot breakfast" means. Yum! I liked the fresh waffles, but I especially liked holding my spoon all by myself and eating out of my own bowl. I had so much fun there walking between the two hotel rooms and looking in the mirrors.

Aaron: The rooms were fun, and so were the luggage carts, but I did NOT like the elevator. Every time that door closed I got scared and mad. Luckily there were lots of fun things on our trip that made me happy- like the zoo! Man, I wanted to jump right in the water with those penguins. In my limited opinion, if you live anywhere in the tri-state area, it is worth driving to the St Louis Zoo just to see the penguins. I talked to them and pointed at them and tried to climb up Mommy so I could get in the water.

Audrey: We did get to go in the water at the big swimming pool at the hotel. We had so much fun splashing. My favorite things at the zoo besides the penguins were the monkeys. I really liked finding them in a tree and pointing to them and then talking about them. I could point and talk all day about those things! I don't like the big ones, just the little ones. I noticed Aaron couldn't stop watching those zebras.

Aaron: The zebras were neat! They're always showing up in books we read but we never get to see them in real life. We had a great time on our mini vacation!

Audrey: Not only did we come home with lots of fun memories, but we came home with two new teeth! One each. Thanks, Nana and Poppy for coming to see us!
