Birthday Details

Have we really had these wonderful, darling, growing babies for a whole year?! I think A&A turning one is kind of like the rapture. You know it's coming, but you're not entirely sure it'll happen during your lifetime. What a year! During these natural breaks in life (a birthday, a new year, an anniversary, and new semester) I love taking some time to reflect, set goals, plan, and dream. Honestly, I haven’t had time to do that yet, but I am trying to get this one birthday blog post done tonight.

We had two small birthdays for Audrey and Aaron. On their actual birthday they each invited one friend over for dinner and cupcakes. They invited Abby and Alana. We had ravioli lasagna which Aaron loves, and a monkey theme since Audrey loves her monkey doll so much. We love their green outfits, new books, and homemade pigs!

On Saturday Grandma and Grandpa Tolbert and Aunt Jenn, Uncle Jake and cousin Jonah came over. We had another round of food, and babies getting to eat cupcakes any way they please. Grandma got a super fun present she described as "the craziest gift I've ever given." It has balls and music and a twirly slide. I’m so glad some family could come. I remember my mom telling me stories about our neighbor Doris making me my first birthday cake and look forward to telling Aaron and Audrey about theirs.

It was fun getting things in the mail. Grandpa and Grandma Becky sent a package and cards came from Uncle Donald and Aunt Jackie, The Tolberts, The Bodishbaughs, and the incredible-at-remembering JoAnne Gay (soon to be JoAnne Jessee!). Thanks Everyone!

More than anything, we feel so blessed to be right where we are in our lives. We thank God literally every day for our family and pray for wisdom to guide our children well.
